Mad Buffalo Productions

Monday Nights

Mad Buffalo Productions Monday night shows at Club Malawi are meant to be fun for everyone who attends. The big picture however is to obtain a following for our broadcasts. Someday we hope to broadcast every night of the week from various venues in and near to Wilmington Delaware. The My Delaware TV website will broadcast live or archived content 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our sincere goal is to promote local singer songwriters.

Participating musicians will be broadcasted live on the night of the show. They will also receive a dvd copy of the performance. The entire show will be rebroadcast periodically on My Delaware TV when there are no live performances scheduled.

All Original All the Time

We prefer that the content to be performed to have been created by the performing musician. Equally desirable is for the music to have been created by a friend who has granted permission to the musician. All other music must be in the public domain (see this flowchart to check) or it must have a Creative Commons license.

Show Times

7:00 to 8:00 PM ET Early Show
9:00 to 10:00 PM ET Late Show
11:00 PM ET Lights Out

* Usually we have one act per show. Sometimes we have a few musicians do a show in more of an open mic format.

Equipment

To minimize traffic and effort, musicians are asked to use the equipment provided where possible. Lighting, sound and cameras have been adjusted to the precise location and parameters of the existing equipment. The broadcast and recordring of video and stereo audio require exact engineering for an optimim result. Even though it is a small room, everythings must be microphoned so it will be represented in the broadcast and recording. Think of this space not as a sound studio but more as a performance space. Check here to see a list of equipment. There is an acoustic guitar available. Electric guitars are rarely used in Monday night performances. Musicians will need to provide their own electric guitar, effects/pedal board, and amplifier which will need to be microphoned.

Free Food / BYOB

When in doubt, assume it has meat. We like to think of the food as stick to your ribs performer fuel. Nothing too fancy. Menu's have and will include chicken and dumplings, chicken and rice, sausage and shells, spaghetti, meatloaf with mashed potatoes. Please adhere to your diet the other 6 days of the week. We provide the food, but please BYOB.

Invite Only

With limited space and resources we ask that everyone be invited. Invites are only good for one night. Want to come next week, you must be invited next week. Musicians performing can ask Mad Buffalo Productions to extend invitations to guests. Invitations will be given depending on room capacity. Guests are expected to help out. Take out the trash, empty the ash trays, wipe down the bar. We don't complain, but we do notice.

Everyone Works

As we are still in the proof of concept stage of production and broadcast, all of the resources given to Mad Buffalo Productions are donated by volunteers. As you can imagine, there are many tasks that need to be accomplished constantly. Everyone should be able to find some way to help out. Think cameras and lighting, sound, cleanup, trash, kitchen, roady, video editing, promotion, scheduling, graphics design, web design, computer programming, server and database administration, paper towel credits.

Smokey

In 2005 when Delaware passed the indoor smoking ban, I took a sledge hammer to the basement wall. Club Malawi was born. There is a circulation and exhaust system that removes the smoke quite well. However it might not be sufficient for people that are allergic. We can adjust the system to feed additional outside air (which is expensive for the heating/air conditioning). Please ask us to make sure it's on FULL. Even on full though, it might still prove too smokey for some. I would recommend an oxygen tank but you'd probably blow us all up.
